Request help for your toilet

In the Issue field, tell us whether the toilet is overflowing, running, leaking at the base or failing to flush. Include whether only one toilet is affected or other toilets, sinks, tubs or showers are backing up too.

Share your ZIP and how urgent the problem is. Provider availability, pricing and appointment timing must be confirmed; submitting a request does not book a visit.

We connect your request with independent local plumbing providers.

What is the toilet doing?

Describe what you can see or hear. You do not need to identify a failed part.

Water standing unusually close to the rim of a toilet bowl.

Overflowing or rising water

Say whether water is rising in the bowl or spilling onto the floor. Mention any other drains backing up at the same time.

A thin stream of water entering a toilet bowl below the rim.

Constant running or refilling

Note whether the toilet runs continuously or refills between uses. Include when you first noticed the sound and whether flushing still works.

Moisture along the front of a toilet base and the surrounding grout.

Water around the base

Describe where water appears and whether it follows a flush. Water around a toilet does not establish the source of the leak.

Slightly drooping flush handle on the side of a toilet tank.

Weak or failed flushing

Tell us whether the handle does nothing, the bowl drains slowly or waste remains after flushing. Do not keep flushing to test it.

Accessible toilet shutoff valve and supply hose above a dry bathroom floor.

Stop flushing before water spreads

Stop repeated flushing. If the bowl is rising, the toilet is overflowing or water appears around the base, leave that toilet unused.

If you can safely reach the toilet’s water-supply valve without entering contaminated water or approaching an electrical hazard, close it gently. Do not force a stuck valve or attempt to take it apart.

Keep children and pets away from wastewater and avoid contact with it. Stay out of wet areas near outlets, cords or electrical equipment.

If other drains are backing up too, stop water use throughout the home and flag those drains in your request.
